Med/Surg RN Job Details

• Location: Weirton, WV 26062 (West Virginia nursing jobs)
• Facility Type: Acute Care Hospital – Medical/Surgical Unit (48 beds)
• Contract Length: 13-week travel assignment (Start: 1/5/2026 – End: 4/6/2026)
• Shift: 12-hour night shifts (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM), weekends as scheduled
• Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week
• Estimated Weekly Salary Range: $1820–$1950
• Dress Code: Navy blue scrubs
• Charting System: Cerner Soarian (EMR experience preferred)

Registered Nurse Qualifications

• Active RN license in West Virginia or compact state (Registered Nurse jobs in WV)
• Current BLS certification
• Minimum 1 year of recent Med/Surg nursing experience
• Ability to provide a valid, unexpired driver’s license
• Willingness to float to Med/Surg, MS-Tele, or IMC units as needed
• Flexibility to work every other weekend and participate in holiday rotation
• First-time travel nurses are encouraged to apply!

Med/Surg RN Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality, compassionate patient care to diverse populations (pneumonia, UTI, AMS, GI bleed, alcohol withdrawal, falls/weakness)
• Manage nurse-to-patient ratios of 1:6–8 during night shifts
• Administer and titrate select IV drips (heparin, bumex, lasix; no cardiac drip titration required)
• Collaborate with charge nurses, patient care technicians, and respiratory therapists
• Monitor patient vitals, perform EKGs, apply heart monitors, and assist with ADLs (bathing, feeding, toileting, turning, positioning)
• Document patient care accurately using Cerner Soarian EMR system
• Participate in a comprehensive orientation (1 day with educator/computer system, 1 day with preceptor)
• Float and assist other units as needed to support hospital operations
