ICU Registered Nurse Job Details

• Location: Freeport, Illinois 61032
• Healthcare Setting: Acute Care – Intensive Care Unit (ICU)
• Assignment Length: 13-week contract (October 6, 2025 – January 5, 2026)
• Shift: 12-hour nights (7:00pm – 7:30am)
• Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week
• Estimated Weekly Salary: $1990-$2130
• Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
• Holiday Requirement: Holiday rotation
• Scrub Color: Any professional color
• Charting System: Meditech EMR

ICU RN Qualifications

• Active Illinois Registered Nurse (RN) license (required for submission)
• Minimum 2 years of recent ICU nursing experience
• Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS
• Proven experience running codes and titrating critical care drips
• Phlebotomy skills and prior travel nursing experience highly preferred
• Experience with Meditech electronic medical records is a plus
• Must disclose any previous employment at FHN Memorial Hospital locations

ICU Nurse Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality, primary care and critical care nursing to ICU patients with diagnoses such as sepsis, stroke, DKA, post-surgical, and ETOH withdrawal
• Lead Code Blue responses as the Command RN and manage emergency situations
• Titrate and mix critical drips (Levo, Neo, Propofol, Fentanyl, Precedex, Insulin, TNK, and more)
• Collaborate with hospitalists, clinical support staff, and telemedicine teams
• Float to MedSurg, Telemetry, or Emergency Room (ER) as needed and manage full patient loads
• Accurately document patient care using Meditech EMR
• Participate in comprehensive orientation and ongoing professional development
