Job Summary
Manages the daily operations of the assigned department or function to ensure alignment with departmental and organizational objectives.
Reports to: Department Director
Essential Functions
Assist with developing specific departmental goals, standards, and objectives which directly support the strategic plan and vision of the organization.
Manages staff relations including performance management, staff satisfaction, and conflict management.
Performs and oversees scheduling, staff development, recruitment, payroll, and student engagements.
Monitors departmental budgets, regulatory compliance, departmental contracts, and vendor relations.
Determines and justifies needs for systems/equipment/supplies purchases, monitors usage, and oversees proper working order and/or stock supplies.
Assesses the quality of patient care delivered and coordinates patient care services with patients, staff, physicians, and other departments; may provide patient care when necessary.
Collaborates as needed across disciplines to coordinate patient care, including patient transfer, discharge, referral and spiritual/psychosocial support needs.
Creates and fosters an environment that encourages professional growth.
Integrates evidence-based practices into operations and clinical protocols.

Department/Unit Summary
Our community is growing and thriving. To better serve our community's growth SOVAH Danville Emergency Department is currently under complete renovation to better serve our patients. The new Emergency Department will be a 31-bed unit with a 4:1 ratio for acute patients, with designated behavioral health safe rooms. Our Emergency Department provides care to patients across the lifespan for all medical emergencies. We are a designated Chest Pain Center & Certified Advanced Primary Stroke Center. We are an academic teaching site for residents, medical students, nurses, nurse practitioners, pharmacists, and physician assistants. The Clinical Nurse Manager acts a leader in the healthcare system at SOVAH Danville by establishing an authentic personalized relationship with patients and their support systems, collaborating with physicians and other team members to provide optimal patient care, utilizing evidence-based practice in care, and providing compassion in care for our patients. The Clinical Nurse Manager accepts responsibility, accountability, and authority for provision and management of care with accordance with current policies and procedures.

Qualifications:
Qualifications and requirements
Graduate of a Professional Nursing program required
Bachelor's degree preferred
