Job Description
Join Optum as an Associate Patient Care Coordinator to enhance patient care through effective communication and coordination in a dynamic healthcare environment. Your role will directly contribute to improved health outcomes and patient satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities
Obtain accurate and updated patient information
Perform insurance verification on the date of service
Schedule multi-specialty appointments
File and maintain medical records
Answer incoming and outgoing telephone calls
Perform referral documentation promptly
Participate in planning, coordinating, and implementing care
Ensure continuity of care through scheduling and tracking systems
Comply with administrative policies to ensure quality of care
Required Qualifications
High School Diploma/GED (or higher)
1+ years of customer service or healthcare related experience
Basic level of proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook and PowerPoint
Ability to travel to other offices if needed
Independent means of transportation during work hours for job related tasks
Preferred Qualifications
1+ years of related work experience including data entry
1+ years of experience working in medical office Urgent Care position performing duties such as scheduling appointments, checking patients in/out, insurance verification, collecting co-pays and maintaining medical records
Prior experience with EMR computer applications
Bilingual (English / Spanish)
