ICU Travel Nurse - Night Shift
Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled ICU Travel Nurse to join our team for a 12-hour night shift in a combined medical, surgical, and cardiac intensive care unit (ICU). This position requires recent ICU experience and the ability to provide high-quality care to critically ill patients.
Unit Information
- Unit Type: Combined medical, surgical, and cardiac ICU
- Number of Beds: 20 beds
- Facility Size: 202 beds
- Trauma Level: Level 1
Patient Population
Travel nurses will encounter a diverse range of patients including:
- Respiratory distress
- COPD exacerbations
- Overdose cases
- Cardiac arrest
- Post-operative care (CABG POD 2, 3)
- Diabetic Ketoacidosis (DKA)
- Strokes and seizures
- Various complex cardiac procedures (e.g., PCI, VATS, PO CEA)
Job Requirements
- Minimum 2 years of recent ICU experience
- At least 1 prior travel assignment
- Active DE or compact nursing license
- Certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS
Work Schedule
- Shift: Rotating primarily nights
- Hours: 12 hours per shift
- Nurse to Patient Ratio: 1:2
- Floating: May float to PACU when necessary
Charting and Medications
- Medication System: Rx Station
- Charting System: Cerner PowerChart
