A Labor & Delivery Registered Nurse (L&D RN) specializes in providing expert, compassionate care to mothers and newborns throughout the labor, delivery, and immediate postpartum stages. This role is essential to ensuring a safe, supportive environment for childbirth, monitoring both maternal and fetal wellbeing, coaching and assisting patients as needed, and collaborating with a multidisciplinary healthcare team. L&D RNs deliver patient-centered care, respond quickly in emergencies, and educate families for a positive birth experience

Roles and Responsibilities - L&D RN (3x12 Night Shift)

• Assess, monitor, and document maternal and fetal health during labor, delivery, and postpartum.
• Provide direct patient care including medication administration, pain management, and support during childbirth.
• Interpret and document fetal monitor tracings; respond to obstetric emergencies.
• Assist with admissions, discharges, and patient transfers; ensure comprehensive newborn care following delivery.
• Collaborate closely with obstetricians, anesthesiologists, and multidisciplinary team to provide safe care.
• Educate patients and families about the labor process, postpartum care, and newborn wellness.
• Participate in orientation, training, and ongoing professional development activities.

Requirements Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in state of Washington Minimum 2 years of recent labor & delivery experience; travel experience a plus. Current BLS, ACLS NRP, and AWHONN certification required Proficiency with fetal monitoring and electronic medical records (e.g., EPIC). Effective communication, critical thinking, and rapid assessment skills. Willingness to work 12-hour night shifts, weekends, and holidays as needed.
