Job Description

Join CHS Inc. as a DOT Safety Specialist, where you will lead safety and compliance efforts in the Transportation and Logistics AFD Department. Your role will involve developing safety plans, conducting training, and ensuring adherence to regulatory frameworks, all while promoting a culture of safety and well-being.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support emergency response efforts as necessary
  • Ensure adherence to relevant regulatory frameworks (CFR, HAZMAT)
  • Assist in fostering a positive safety culture
  • Coordinate compliance with all applicable Environmental, Health, and Safety (EH&S) related requirements
  • Develop and implement EH&S related plans, programs, policies, and procedures
  • Conduct effective EH&S related training for employees, contractors, and visitors
  • Conduct complex EH&S related audits, workplace inspections, job safety analysis
  • Provide first aid for minor injuries and coordinate medical attention for serious injuries
  • Conduct complex accident investigations and manage worker’s compensation process
  • Communicate EH&S related requirements and expectations
  • Respond to day-to-day EH&S related issues
  • Keep current on all applicable EH&S related rules and regulations

Required Qualifications

  • High School diploma or GED
  • 4+ years of experience in Environmental, Health, and/or Safety

Preferred Qualifications

  • Agriculture background, facility operation, and management experience
  • Understanding of construction practices and principles
  • Experience in the inventory management process
  • Ability to complete OSHA 30 hour construction training certification program
  • Bachelor's degree preferred in Occupational Health, Environmental Health and Safety, or related field
