Registered Nurse Qualifications

• Active Compact or Maryland RN license – Registered Nurse jobs in Maryland
• Minimum 2 years of recent Emergency Department RN experience
• Recent experience in an ED with at least 45,600 visits/year (125/day) within the past 8 months
• Prior travel nursing experience required
• Expert triage skills (required)
• Certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS, PALS
• Cerner EMR experience preferred
• Two supervisor references required
• Flu vaccine required (no exemptions)

ER RN Responsibilities

• Perform triage and prioritize patient care in a busy emergency room
• Initiate and maintain IVs, perform phlebotomy, and manage isolation precautions
• Care for ventilated patients and those on CPAP/BiPAP
• Interpret and manage dysrhythmias
• Deliver nursing care to patients of all ages: neonates, infants, pediatrics, adolescents, adults, and geriatrics
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams including respiratory therapy, social services, pharmacy, and rapid response
• Participate in weekend and holiday rotations
• Maintain accurate documentation using Cerner EMR
• Adhere to hospital policies, infection control, and safety standards
