Med/Surg RN Job Details

• Location: Springfield, Tennessee (Zip: 37172) – Tennessee nursing jobs
• Assignment Length: 13-week travel contract
• Start Date: January 12, 2026
• End Date: April 13, 2026
• Shift: 12-hour day shifts (7:00 AM - 7:00 PM)
• Hours per Week: 36
• Schedule: 3 days per week, every other weekend required
• Unit: Medical-Surgical (Med/Surg) – MS2 & MS3, 27 beds per floor
• Patient Ratio: 5:1
• Modern Equipment: New computer on wheels, Welch Allen vital sign machines, Pyxis medication system
• Documentation System: Medhost (transitioning to Meditech)
• Estimated Weekly Salary: $1440-$1550

Registered Nurse Qualifications

• Active RN license (Registered Nurse)
• BLS certification required; ACLS preferred
• Minimum 1 year of recent Med/Surg nursing experience
• Clinical experience with post-op and orthopedic patients
• Ability to float between MS2 and MS3 units
• Strong communication, teamwork, and clinical support skills

Med/Surg RN Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality nursing care to Med/Surg patients
• Monitor and manage IVs, central lines, and blood transfusions
• Provide post-operative care, especially for orthopedic cases
• Accurately document patient information using Medhost/Meditech
• Collaborate with unit secretaries, techs, and the healthcare team
• Ensure compliance with unit guidelines and hospital policies
• Promote excellent patient experience and support recovery
