The Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) provides crucial support to the nursing staff and assists patients with their daily care needs. This role is essential for ensuring patient comfort and safety in a hospital unit environment. Possess a basic understanding of nursing principles. Participates in and receive the nursing report from licensed staff while maintaining the patient’s privacy and dignity assist with activities of daily living (DLs), including bathing, grooming, dressing, and toileting. Help patients with mobility, transferring them safely in and out of beds, chairs, and wheelchairs. Assist in documenting patient care activities and responses in medical records. Help set up meal trays and provide assistance as needed during mealtimes Follow infection control protocols and ensure proper sanitation practices. Collaborate with the nursing team to deliver comprehensive patient care. Patient Advocate by provide companionship and emotional support to patients, helping them feel comfortable and cared for during their hospital stay. Uses the nursing process to assess, plan, and evaluate patient care in collaboration with the RN/LPN. Provides nursing care, in collaboration with the RN, with consideration of the physical, psychosocial, cultural/spiritual, and age specific needs of those served. Demonstrate the appropriate use of equipment/supplies. Completion of an Idaho State approved nursing aide training program (CNA Certification).
