Job Description
Join Loyola Medicine's Food Services Team as a Cook, where you'll prepare and cook a variety of foods for patients and staff. This full-time position offers a dynamic work environment with opportunities for career advancement while ensuring high standards of food quality and sanitation.
Key Responsibilities
Prepares, seasons, and cooks various foods for consumption in cafeteria or patient rooms
Reviews menus and production schedules to determine quantities needed
Plans cooking schedule in conjunction with supervisor
Utilizes a variety of cooking methods such as baking, roasting, steaming, grilling, and frying
Ensures all foods meet standards for quality of taste and temperature
Maintains cleanliness and sanitation of food preparation areas
Documents leftover foods and completes production records
Participates in job-related training and in-service education
Performs other duties as assigned
Required Qualifications
Less than one year of previous job-related experience
Preferred Qualifications
High School Diploma
1-2 years of previous job-related experience
Culinary training acquired through culinary school or years of experience in an institutional setting
