Job Description

Join Loyola Medicine's Food Services Team as a Cook, where you'll prepare and cook a variety of foods for patients and staff. This full-time position offers a dynamic work environment with opportunities for career advancement while ensuring high standards of food quality and sanitation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepares, seasons, and cooks various foods for consumption in cafeteria or patient rooms
  • Reviews menus and production schedules to determine quantities needed
  • Plans cooking schedule in conjunction with supervisor
  • Utilizes a variety of cooking methods such as baking, roasting, steaming, grilling, and frying
  • Ensures all foods meet standards for quality of taste and temperature
  • Maintains cleanliness and sanitation of food preparation areas
  • Documents leftover foods and completes production records
  • Participates in job-related training and in-service education
  • Performs other duties as assigned

Required Qualifications

  • Less than one year of previous job-related experience

Preferred Qualifications

  • High School Diploma
  • 1-2 years of previous job-related experience
  • Culinary training acquired through culinary school or years of experience in an institutional setting
