Job Summary:
The Executive Chef will lead daily kitchen operations, including recruiting, training, and food prep, while developing staff and ensuring customer satisfaction, safety, and financial goals are met.
Leading Culinary Operation:
- Oversee meal preparation, food quality, safety standards, team performance, and profitability.
- Design food presentation and decorative displays.
- Develop menus based on seasonal ingredients and customer preferences.
- Source fresh ingredients, monitor produce and meat freshness.
- Ensure consistency and quality of food products.
- Research and incorporate local flavors into menus.
- Prepare and cook a variety of foods, demonstrate techniques, supervise staff, and ensure safety compliance.
Business & Financial Skills:
- Contribute to community business strategies aligned with mission and values.
- Manage expenses, develop budgets, and analyze financial data to optimize costs and revenues.
- Oversee inventory, purchasing, and food control.
- Schedule staff based on forecasted needs.
Customer Service Excellence:
- Create resident satisfaction through staff training and engagement.
- Engage professionally with residents and staff, handle feedback, and foster a hospitality-focused environment.
- Seek resident feedback for continuous improvement.
Team Management:
- Lead team meetings, set goals, and foster engagement.
- Provide coaching, training, and performance feedback to staff.
Preferred Qualifications:
- A.S. degree or equivalent experience.
- At least 5 years of progressive culinary management experience.
- Extensive catering and high-volume foodservice experience preferred.
- Hands-on chef experience required.
- Knowledge of current food trends, sanitation, and cost controls.
- Computer proficiency in MS Office and email.
- ServSafe certification is highly desirable.
