Job Description

Join Whole Foods Market as a Food Safety & Quality Assurance Team Manager to lead a dedicated team ensuring the highest food safety and quality standards in our production facility. You will play a crucial role in implementing quality assurance programs, handling food safety crises, and fostering a culture of excellence within the organization.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead daily operations of the FSQA team
  • Establish a culture prioritizing food safety and quality
  • Design, implement, and manage quality assurance programs
  • Develop and enforce quality standards
  • Oversee environmental monitoring program and compliance with GMP, HACCP, and FSMA guidelines
  • Monitor and update Sanitation Standard Operating Procedures
  • Act as liaison for food safety and quality issues
  • Maintain documentation of quality assurance and food safety activities
  • Handle food safety crises
  • Interview, select, train, and manage performance of Team Members
  • Collaborate with Team Member Services on relations and concerns
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory standards

Required Qualifications

  • BA/BS degree in food science, microbiology, animal sciences, or related field preferred
  • 2+ years of FSQA facility experience within a food production environment
  • 12+ months of supervisory FSQA experience in the food manufacturing industry
  • Proven track record of success in an FSQA leadership role
  • Ability to develop, implement, and manage food safety and quality assurance programs
  • Experience in conducting internal and external audits
  • Proficiency in analyzing data from quality tests, audits, and inspections
  • Intermediate computer skills; proficiency in Microsoft Office applications

Preferred Qualifications

  • PCQI and HACCP certified
  • Basic understanding of ERP processes within a food manufacturing environment
  • Ability to build strong partnerships with key stakeholders
  • A genuine passion for food and commitment to nourishing people and the planet
