Job Description
Join the ASPCA as a Lead Veterinarian, where you will support and guide a dedicated team in delivering high-quality veterinary care to underserved communities. You'll play a crucial role in ensuring animal welfare while fostering a positive work environment and providing mentorship to new veterinarians.
Key Responsibilities
Oversee and monitor medicine and surgery at the ASPCA’s veterinary clinics
Train veterinarians in spay/neuter techniques and medical protocols
Support a positive work culture through regular feedback and coaching
Perform high volume spay/neuter surgical procedures
Provide veterinary care including examinations, diagnostics, and treatment recommendations
Participate in team meetings and provide case presentations
Required Qualifications
Current California State Veterinary License
Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from an AVMA accredited veterinary college
Minimum one year of experience in high quality, high volume spay/neuter
Minimum three years veterinary experience in small animal medicine and surgery
Excellent work attendance record
Fear Free® Shelter certification required within 60 days of hire
Preferred Qualifications
Previous people management experience strongly preferred
