Key Responsibilities
Enforcing customs, immigration, and agriculture laws
Facilitating legitimate trade and travel
Conducting inspections of individuals and conveyances
Determining admissibility of individuals for entry into the U.S.
Preventing illegal entry and smuggling
Required Qualifications
Minimum of one (1) year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level
Detaining suspected violators of laws
Enforcing laws related to importing, exporting, and international shipping
Utilizing intelligence techniques to identify potential threats
Conducting interviews in a law enforcement capacity
U.S. Citizenship
Primary U.S. residency for at least three of the last five years
Must be referred before the 40th birthday
Preferred Qualifications
Master's degree or higher
Combination of specialized experience and graduate-level education
