Job Description

Join Cargill as an Industrial Refrigeration Technician, where you'll be integral to maintaining ammonia refrigeration systems and ensuring operational excellence in a sustainable food production environment. Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain ammonia refrigeration system and perform chemical testing and treatment of the evaporative condenser water
  • Perform daily monitoring of the system through walk arounds and trend graphs
  • Optimize ammonia operations using the Logix system
  • Oversee training for Maintenance techs
  • Write and review task procedures, PM’s and SOP’s for equipment operation
  • Support in PSM compliance audits
  • Maintain Plant equipment and maintain PIT license
  • Troubleshoot and diagnose mechanical problems
  • Promote quality and yield improvements with supervisor/production
  • Complete scheduled daily work
  • Assist in wastewater operation when needed
  • Work on air compressor systems and HVAC equipment as needed
  • Complete necessary documentation related to work orders and PSM elements

Required Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED Equivalent
  • Understanding of Anhydrous Ammonia Refrigeration systems
  • Ammonia Refrigeration Systems Certification – Operator Level 1
  • Ability to wear a full face breathing respirator mask
  • Willingness to be a part of the Hazmat team
  • At least 3 years industrial maintenance experience
  • Strong electrical & mechanical aptitude
  • Ability to read & interpret blueprints or other engineering drawings
  • Ability to read & interpret detail blueprints, P&IDs, single-lines, ladder logic and wiring schematics
  • Strong personal safety philosophy and ability to follow safety policies & procedures
  • Ability to understand and learn Evaporative Condenser water chemistry
  • Able to work weekends as needed

Preferred Qualifications

  • Computer literacy and eagerness to learn SAP/PPE systems
  • Maintenance experience in a food processing environment
  • Understanding of waste water system
  • HVAC System Experience
  • Boiler Experience
  • Compressed Air Systems Operating Experience
  • Ability to use typical test and calibration equipment
