Job Description

Key Responsibilities
Provide care to patients with acute and chronic illnesses in the neurosurgical service
Oversee patient clinical records, labs, and imaging for outpatient consultations
Conduct health history and physical assessments of patients
Coordinate preoperative evaluations for surgical patients
Participate in daily rounds and collaborate with healthcare team members
Evaluate patients for routine post-operative care and manage complications
Manage communications between healthcare team, patients, and families
Track patient progress and coordinate care
Assist in surgeries and procedures if qualified
Participate in clinical trials and research projects
Identify opportunities to improve healthcare effectiveness and efficiency
Attend meetings and committees as needed
Educate nurses, APPs, medical students, and residents
Required Qualifications
Master’s degree from accredited Nursing Program or Physician Assistant training
Active RN and APNP license in Texas or Physician Assistant license
Active board certification as an Acute Care NP or PA
Demonstrated analytical skills and problem-solving ability
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Proficiency with electronic medical record systems
Outstanding organizational and time-management skills
Preferred Qualifications
One or more years of experience in a neurosurgical or related surgical practice
Experience with large research projects and clinical trials
