Key Responsibilities
Reads charts and prescriptions for diagnostic procedures
Obtains clinical information and follows physician requests
Prepares contrast media according to orders
Assures proper patient identification before procedures
Initiates life support measures as necessary
Lifts and moves patients with assistance
Performs diagnostic CT procedures under radiologist direction
Identifies disease abnormalities during scans
Selects technical factors and imaging modes for patients
Practices aseptic technique
Administers intravenous contrast media as per physician's orders
Required Qualifications
Graduation from an AMA approved program in Radiological Technology
Current New York State licensure or permit to practice as a Radiological Technologist
Ability to think and act quickly for efficient patient care
Good reading and deductive skills
Sensitivity and interpersonal skills for patient interaction
Effective communication skills with physicians and staff
