Key Responsibilities
Assist in design of electrical projects and install electrical equipment
Coordinate efforts with other workers involved in installing and maintaining equipment
Consult with operators, supervisors, and engineers to plan layout of equipment
Determine feasibility of using standardized equipment and develop specifications
Work with voltage levels up to 480, 4160
Study blueprints, schematics, manuals, and other specifications
Perform instrumentation calculation, set up of parameters and limits
Modify industrial electronic devices, circuits, and equipment
Set up and test industrial equipment to ensure proper function
Perform scheduled preventive maintenance tasks
Inspect components of industrial equipment for defects
Advise management on equipment hazards
Maintain equipment logs
Examine work orders to detect equipment problems
Repair, install and adjust equipment and components
Install coaxial or fiber optic cable for telecommunications equipment
Maintain inventory of spare parts
Make necessary repairs quickly during breakdowns
Test faulty equipment using test equipment and software
Work extended shifts and adapt to changing priorities
Follow the National Electric Code and Cargill standards
Assist with management of outside contracted electrical projects
Participate in ongoing skill level improvement training
Maintain a safe and sanitary atmosphere
Inspect buildings and grounds for maintenance needs
Understand and adhere to safety rules and regulations
Required Qualifications
Must be eligible to work in the United States without visa sponsorship
Must be 18 years or older
Must be able to perform physical job duties including bending/stooping, climbing ladders, and work in confined spaces
Ability to lift a minimum of 50 pounds
Must be able to work under special work conditions, such as extreme heat or cold
Ability to work in elevated areas
Must be able to operate machinery
Must be able to read/write English
High School diploma or Equivalent
Basic computer skills including being able to enter and retrieve data
Ability to work overtime
Ability to work holidays, nights, weekends or different shifts
Must be able to perform electrical maintenance trade
Experience working with blueprints, schematics, manuals, and other specifications
Must be able to operate mobile equipment
Must have a high degree of mechanical aptitude
Demonstrated ability to perform basic mathematical functions
Must be willing and able to work in inclement conditions and extreme temperatures
Must have very good time management skills
Install conduit and pull wire
Have a strong commitment to safety
Must have adequate transportation
Craftspeople in this position will use multiple tools such as multi-meter, voltmeter, and safety equipment
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with wiring and programming Allen Bradley Programmable Logic Controllers
Experience using electrical test equipment to perform analysis and troubleshooting
Knowledge of the National Electric Code
Mechanical aptitude to work from all types of blueprints, maintenance manuals, and drawings
Apprentice, Journeyman or above license with the state of Nebraska or equivalent
A 2-year degree in electromechanical, electrical system, or equivalent
