Job Title: Mental Health Clinician
Location: East Elmhurst, NY 11370
Shift: 4:00 AM-12:00 PM
Travel Pay Rate: $2,500.00 - $3,000.00 per week
Job Type: 13-week Contract
Position Summary: - Under the supervision of the Clinical Supervisor and the Mental Health Unit Chief in their assigned facility on Rikers Island, the Mental Health Clinician will provide quality mental health care to incarcerated adult men who need and/or want services
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct thorough intake assessments and diagnostic evaluations utilizing ICD-9 and ICD-10 coding systems to determine appropriate treatment plans.
- Provide individual, group, and family counseling sessions employing modalities such as cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), psychodynamic therapy, art therapy, dance therapy, and applied behavior analysis.
- Implement crisis management protocols to address urgent mental health concerns, ensuring safety and stabilization for clients experiencing acute distress.
- Deliver specialized counseling services including grief counseling, addiction counseling, PTSD care, gender issues counseling, and chronic pain counseling.
Required Qualifications:
- BLS, Master's degree in Social Work, Psychology, or related field.
- New York State License in Social Work, License in Mental Health Counseling, or licensure in Psychology.
