Labor & Delivery RN Job Details

• Location: Morgantown, WV 26506 (West Virginia nursing jobs)
• Facility: The Birthing Center – Acute Care (Labor & Delivery)
• Assignment Duration: 8 weeks (Start: 11/10/2025 – End: 1/5/2026)
• Shift: 12-hour nights (7:00pm – 7:30am)
• Hours per Week: 36 guaranteed hours
• Estimated Weekly Salary: $2140–$2290
• Call Requirement: 24 hours of call time per 4-week period
• Weekend Shifts: 3 weekend shifts and 2 Fridays per contract
• Unit Details: 13 L&D beds, 8 triage beds, 17 postpartum beds
• Average Births: 7.2 births per day

Registered Nurse Qualifications

• Active RN license (open to candidates awaiting West Virginia licensure)
• Minimum 1 year of recent Labor & Delivery nursing experience
• Proficiency with EPIC EMR and IV placement
• Required Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NRP, AWHONN Advanced Fetal Monitoring
• Ability to float to other hospital units as needed
• Must provide a valid, unexpired driver’s license (residence must be outside 50 miles from facility)
• Previous permanent staff must have been gone for 2 years; previous travelers for 1 full year must have been gone for 2 years

Labor & Delivery Nurse Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality nursing care to patients in labor, triage, and postpartum settings
• Monitor maternal and fetal status using GE Corometerics FHM system
• Perform IV placements and chart using EPIC EMR
• Collaborate with OB/GYNs, neonatologists, nurse aides, and other healthcare professionals
• Respond to high-risk labor and antepartum cases
• Maintain compliance with unit ratios: 1:1 active labor, 1:3 triage, 1:6 postpartum/mom-baby
• Participate in rotating holiday coverage as per unit policy
• Wear ceil blue hospital-issued scrubs
