Job Description
Join the ASPCA as a Lead Veterinarian, where you'll lead a dedicated team providing quality veterinary care to underserved communities. You will support fellow veterinarians, ensure minimal stress for patients, and maximize community impact through compassion-driven animal welfare.
Key Responsibilities
Oversee and monitor medicine and surgery at ASPCA’s veterinary clinics
Train veterinarians in HQHVSN techniques and medical protocols
Support a positive work culture of respect and teamwork
Partner with Talent Acquisition to hire and onboard new staff
Perform pre-surgery physical examinations and high volume spay/neuter procedures
Provide compassionate, quality preventive and basic care to patients
Required Qualifications
Current California State Veterinary License
Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from an AVMA accredited veterinary college
Minimum one year of experience in high quality, high volume spay/neuter
Minimum three years veterinary experience in small animal medicine and surgery
Demonstrate true leadership abilities in challenging situations
Ability to work in high-volume, fast-paced clinic environment
Excellent work attendance record
Fear Free® Shelter certification required within 60 days of hire
