Position Overview: Twin County Regional Hospital is seeking a compassionate and experienced Travel RN to join the Behavioral Health Unit on a night shift schedule. The RN will provide care to patients with psychiatric and behavioral health disorders, playing a critical role in patient safety, therapeutic engagement, and crisis management.

Responsibilities:

• Conduct psychiatric assessments and monitor behavioral changes
• Administer prescribed medications, including psychotropics
• Implement individualized care plans alongside interdisciplinary teams
• De-escalate crisis situations using trauma-informed and therapeutic techniques
• Maintain detailed documentation of patient behavior and clinical interventions
• Collaborate with physicians, therapists, and social workers to coordinate care
• Support patients with emotional regulation, coping strategies, and group activities
• Ensure a safe, structured, and respectful unit environment in compliance with hospital and legal standards

Qualifications:

• Valid RN license (Virginia or compact state eligible)
• Minimum of 2 years behavioral health, psychiatric, or mental health nursing experience preferred
• Current BLS certification; CPI or other crisis intervention training strongly preferred
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to maintain professional boundaries
• Flexibility in responding to unpredictable patient behavior and unit dynamics
• EMR proficiency and experience with psychiatric documentation standards
