Alaska Village Electric Cooperative (AVEC) serves 59 communities across Alaska, managing 46 small, isolated grids powered by diesel, wind, and solar energy, serving 11,513 meters over 515 miles of distribution line. As a Maintenance Tech - Diesel Mechanic, your tasks will include inspecting, servicing, diagnosing, and repairing diesel-powered equipment. You will work closely with team members, follow safety protocols, and keep accurate maintenance records. The role requires working 10-hour days, 6 days a week, to support critical equipment in remote locations. Ideal candidates will have technical skills in construction, electrical systems, and maintenance, with experience in diesel systems or similar fields. You should be adaptable to remote working environments, self-motivated, responsible, and committed to safety. Proficiency with tools and maintenance software is required.
