Birch Agency, a nationally recognized company in educational services, is looking for a dedicated Education Specialist/Special Education Teacher (Mild/Moderate) to join our team in Galt, CA ! Job Details:
* Start: ASAP
* Full-time (7.5 hour shifts)
* Age group: K-6th
* Caseload: TBD
* Mild/Moderate - RSP
* Pay dependent on experience but starting at $50/hr
Qualifications:
* Master's degree in Special Education from an accredited institution
* Valid state license or certification for Mild/Moderate Education Specialist
* Demonstrated experience working with children and adolescents in a school setting, with a strong emphasis on supporting those with special needs
Responsibilities:
As a Special Education Teacher with Birch Agency, you will:
* Provide direct/group instructions to students with disabilities
* Develop lesson plans/instructional material to meet needs of students IEP
* Conduct educational assessments
* Attend IEP meetings
* Assist in planning and development of IEP
* Facilitate implementation of special education services
* Collaborate with other members who are part of the special education team
* Employ a variety of teaching styles to respond to needs of diverse learners
* Effectively communicate with parents/caregivers and staff to support students academic success
* Modify traditional education curriculum to meet students needs
* Ensure appropriate accommodations are available for classroom instruction and testing
* Employ techniques for positive behavioral support
* Assist in the collection of data for providing appropriate classroom interventions
