Job Description

Key Responsibilities
Provide comprehensive nursing care including executing physician's orders and administering medications
Order, interpret and evaluate diagnostic tests
Record physical findings and formulate prognosis
Recommend drugs and treatments within the scope of licensure
Monitor inmate hospitalizations and ensure early release when appropriate
Maintain cleanliness of equipment and work area
Assist with monitoring required contractual services
Maintain good working relationships with facility staff and outside providers
Evaluate medical services to prevent inappropriate use
Maintain confidentiality of medical records
Monitor potential catastrophic illnesses
Audit pharmacy use for adherence to formulary
Provide health counseling and education
Attend scheduled staff meetings and participate in multi-disciplinary committee meetings
Facilitate accreditation of the medical program
Prepare and disseminate safety and accident reports
Perform rescue functions in emergencies
Required Qualifications
Graduate from an accredited college or university’s nursing program
Current licensure and/or certification as an Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioner
