Join The Jewish Board as a Case Planner, where you will make a significant impact on families at risk, providing essential child welfare services to keep children safe from abuse and neglect. This role involves assessing family needs, offering counseling, and connecting families with crucial resources in their communities.
Key Responsibilities
Provide Child Welfare Preventive Services primarily within the client's home and community
Assess and address safety and risk concerns related to children's health and well-being
Evaluate living conditions through home visits
Provide supportive case work counseling to children and family members
Identify and access community resources and concrete services
Collaborate with external resources such as schools and medical providers
Conduct specialized groups for children and parents
Complete weekly progress notes and update Family Assessment Service Plan Reports
Participate in continuous quality improvement projects
Monitor children regarding their medical needs and compliance
Required Qualifications
BA or Masters level degree in Psychology, Social Work, Counseling or a related subject
Basic social work knowledge and understanding of stages of change
Ability to provide in-home child welfare services
Preferred Qualifications
Understanding of the use of family therapy principles to provide services
Understanding of early childhood development and related theories and models of practice
Strong Assessment skills to evaluate dynamics and interactions within the family
Knowledge and experience with the Connections system
