Join South Shore Health as a Part-time Inpatient Phlebotomist working early mornings, where you'll perform essential phlebotomy functions, ensure patient safety, and maintain high standards of lab practices. This role allows you to make a direct impact on patient care through accurate specimen collection and teamwork.
Key Responsibilities
Perform phlebotomy functions including venipuncture, fingerstick, and heelstick.
Identify patients and label specimen tubes accurately.
Prioritize and ensure timely transport of STAT draws.
Utilize computers for order entry and verification.
Organize assigned work and maintain workload statistics.
Assist co-workers and communicate with laboratory departments.
Train new employees and student interns in phlebotomy duties.
Act as a receptionist when required.
Maintain cleanliness and organization of phlebotomy areas.
Adhere to safety protocols and procedures.
Required Qualifications
Equivalent of four (4) years of high school education preferred.
One (1) year of full-time experience preferred.
Preferred Qualifications
Certified or certified eligible with National Phlebotomy Association preferred.
