Job Description

Join Akron Children's Hospital as a Mental Health Therapist II where you'll utilize your counseling skills to provide comprehensive assessments and tailored interventions for patients and families. This full-time position supports the mental health of children and adolescents in a collaborative and supportive environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct initial comprehensive patient and family psychosocial assessments
  • Communicate with staff regarding assessments and treatment plans
  • Provide case management for assigned patients
  • Use evidence-based trauma and risk assessment tools
  • Complete necessary documentation promptly
  • Conduct therapy sessions using CBT and DBT modalities

Required Qualifications

  • Master's Degree in Social Work or Clinical Mental/Behavioral Health Counseling
  • Licensed Independent Social Worker (LISW), Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC), or Licensed Independent Marriage and Family Therapist (IMFT)
  • Minimum 3 years of relevant experience

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working with electronic medical record software, such as EPIC
  • Experience providing clinical services through telehealth
  • Supervision endorsement from the Ohio Counselor, Social Worker, and Marriage and Family Therapist Board
