Job Description
Join the ASPCA as a Lead Veterinarian, where you will lead a dedicated team providing high-quality veterinary care to underserved communities. This role combines people leadership with direct veterinary practice, ensuring compassionate care while fostering professional development within a supportive environment.
Key Responsibilities
Support new and experienced veterinarians
Oversee and monitor medicine and surgery at the ASPCA’s CVC
Train veterinarians in high-quality, high-volume spay/neuter techniques
Provide compassionate and quality preventive care to underserved communities
Ensure a positive work culture through regular feedback and performance evaluations
Required Qualifications
Current California State Veterinary License
Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from an AVMA accredited veterinary college
Minimum one year of experience in high quality, high volume spay/neuter
Minimum three years veterinary experience in small animal medicine and surgery
Excellent work attendance record
Fear Free® Shelter certification required within 60 days of hire
