Job Description

Join Optum as an Associate Patient Care Coordinator and make a significant impact on patient care. You'll serve as the first point of contact for patients, ensuring they receive quality service while managing important demographic and insurance information in a compassionate environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Communicates with patients and families to complete the registration process
  • Responds to patient inquiries in a compassionate manner
  • Utilizes computer systems to ensure accuracy of patient data
  • Checks in patients and obtains necessary demographics and insurance information
  • Answers billing questions and provides patient estimates based on insurance benefits

Required Qualifications

  • High School Diploma/GED (or higher)
  • 6+ months of experience in an office setting, customer service setting, phone support role or call center environment
  • Basic proficiency with computer and Windows PC applications
  • Ability to work Wednesday - Saturday 4:00PM - 4:30AM

Preferred Qualifications

  • 1+ years of Registration experience in a hospital or medical setting
  • Understanding of medical terminology
  • Working knowledge of insurance policies and procedures
