Develops and maintains clinical competencies through continuing education. Assesses, plans, implements, and evaluates staff member competency through PI projects, patient care outcomes, and customer satisfaction surveys. Assists in the achievement of financial and operational objective of the hospital. Compliance with EEOC regulations, Federal, State, and Labor Laws and Regulations is required. Service/Quality/Excellence: · Supports hospital mission statement, philosophy, goals and objectives · Effective verbal, written, and computer communication skills · Complies with facility policies & procedures · Completes regulatory education requirements · Develops and organizes job related in-services. · Participates in Studer Program Must Haves: Rounding for Outcomes, Employee Thank You Notes; Employee Selection and the First 90 Days, Patient Discharge Phone Calls, and Key Words at Key Times · Responsible for budgeting, resource allocation, and ordering supplies/equipment · Work at part of a team of physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to manage patient care · Responsible for management and direction of department staff Qualifications Education/Experience: · Graduate from an accredited nursing program · BSN required, MSN highly recommended · Maintains education and development appropriate for position · Two years management experience preferred Licensure/Certification Requirements: · Registered Nurse License issued by the State of Oklahoma or as part of a compact. · BLS by end of week one · ACLS within 3 months of hire · PALS within 3 months of hire · NIH Stroke (or obtains by end of Clinical Nursing Orientation) · Oklahoma Rights & Responsibilities Certificate (Medical Treatment Laws Information Act) every 2 years (and obtains by end of Clinical Nursing Orientation) · Service line specialty certification within 6 months Physical Demands: The physical demands and work environment characteristics described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
