Job Description

Join Optum as an Associate Patient Care Coordinator, where you'll play a vital role in improving health outcomes by providing exceptional front office support. In this position, you will handle appointment scheduling, patient registration, and insurance verifications, all while contributing to a diverse and inclusive workplace dedicated to health equity.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide appointment scheduling and patient registration
  • Handle cashiering and incoming calls
  • Collect copays and patient balances
  • Request and retrieve records from offices/hospitals
  • Prepare charts and scan documents
  • Verify patient insurance coverage
  • Document information in patient charts using an electronic medical records system
  • Coordinate physician schedules and patient visits

Required Qualifications

  • High School Diploma/GED or higher
  • 1+ years of experience working in a healthcare environment
  • Must be 18 years of age or older

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience utilizing electronic medical records
  • Medical secretary office experience
  • Advanced proficiency with PC and software applications like Microsoft Word and Outlook
