Job Description
Join Optum as an Associate Patient Care Coordinator, where you'll play a vital role in improving health outcomes by providing exceptional front office support. In this position, you will handle appointment scheduling, patient registration, and insurance verifications, all while contributing to a diverse and inclusive workplace dedicated to health equity.
Key Responsibilities
Provide appointment scheduling and patient registration
Handle cashiering and incoming calls
Collect copays and patient balances
Request and retrieve records from offices/hospitals
Prepare charts and scan documents
Verify patient insurance coverage
Document information in patient charts using an electronic medical records system
Coordinate physician schedules and patient visits
Required Qualifications
High School Diploma/GED or higher
1+ years of experience working in a healthcare environment
Must be 18 years of age or older
Preferred Qualifications
Experience utilizing electronic medical records
Medical secretary office experience
Advanced proficiency with PC and software applications like Microsoft Word and Outlook
