Job Description
Join Optum as an Associate Patient Care Coordinator and play a pivotal role in enhancing patient care through exceptional service and teamwork. Key Responsibilities
Provide exceptional service to all customers
Greet patients and check them in and out; ensure demographics are correct
Collect co-pays and adhere to cash handling policies
Schedule appointments and verify correct visit type and primary care provider
Manage waiting room cleanliness and assist patients
Collaborate with back-office staff to ensure smooth patient flow
Resolve service issues and defer to appropriate personnel when necessary
Assist co-workers with duties as requested
Perform duties with required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
Required Qualifications
High School Diploma/GED (or higher)
CPR certified or ability to obtain certification within 30 days of hire
1+ years of experience displaying strong communication and customer service skills both in person and via phone
Intermediate level of proficiency with Microsoft Office
Preferred Qualifications
1+ years of experience in a health care setting or medical office
Knowledge/understanding of CPT/ICD-10 coding
Previous experience with Electronic Health Records
Experience with insurance programs and basic managed care principles such as referrals and prior authorization
Independent means of transportation during work hours for job-related tasks
