Job Description

The Director of Operations will oversee the agency's real estate portfolio in New York City, ensuring efficient and safe property operations. This role involves managing area managers, collaborating with contractors, and driving accountability through performance metrics, all aimed at enhancing the living and working environments for clients with developmental and mental health diagnoses.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise day-to-day operations for all agency properties across NYC
  • Ensure timely acknowledgment and resolution of maintenance tickets
  • Manage and mentor area managers and oversee maintenance teams
  • Collaborate with contractors for complex maintenance issues
  • Ensure compliance with life safety standards and regulations
  • Develop and implement performance metrics for operational effectiveness
  • Identify areas for process improvements using performance data

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum of 10 years as a tradesperson, preferably in mechanical, plumbing, or electrical fields
  • At least 5 years of managerial experience overseeing teams or operations
  • Experience and knowledge of technical building systems
  • Fluency in English
  • Valid driver's license
  • OSHA 30 certification within 6 months of employment

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in a hybrid role with field and office responsibilities
  • Familiarity with life safety system requirements and contract management
  • Ability to develop and analyze performance metrics
  • Prior experience managing large real estate portfolios
