Job Description:

We are seeking an experienced Emergency Department Registered Nurse (RN) to join a hospital in Wilson, NC, on a travel contract. The ED RN will provide high-quality, compassionate care to patients in urgent and emergent situations. The ideal candidate is adaptable, calm under pressure, and thrives in a fast-paced environment where critical thinking and quick decision-making are essential.

Key Responsibilities:

Provide direct patient care in the Emergency Department, assessing and prioritizing patient needs in urgent situations.
Administer medications, treatments, and interventions safely and accurately.
Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary team members to deliver coordinated care.
Monitor patient conditions and respond promptly to changes or emergencies.
Educate patients and families on care plans, discharge instructions, and follow-up care.
Document patient assessments, interventions, and outcomes accurately and timely.
Uphold infection control, safety, and quality standards in all aspects of care.

Qualifications:

Current and valid RN license in North Carolina (or compact license).
Graduation from an accredited nursing program (ADN or BSN).
Minimum of 1 year recent ED nursing experience (travel experience preferred).
Current Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certifications; Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) preferred.
COVID vaccine and recent TB test.
Strong communication, critical thinking, and organizational skills.
Ability to remain calm and effective in high-stress emergency situations.
