Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) for an ICU Step-Down/Cardiac Vascular & Post-Surgical Step-Down Unit at a leading hospital in Neptune, NJ. This role provides high-quality, patient-centered care in a fast-paced environment.

The RN will:

• Evaluate patients & assist physicians with care plans
• Plan, implement, and document nursing care based on patient needs
• Prioritize care through assessment, intervention & evaluation
• Develop and coordinate individualized care plans
• Perform therapeutic nursing interventions
• Manage and monitor patient status including telemetry
• Chart accurately in EMR systems
• Provide evidence-based patient-centered care
• Float within step-down and med-surg units as needed

Requirements

Education

• Required: ASN
• Preferred: BSN

Licenses & Certifications

• Active NJ RN License or Compact License
• BLS – AHA
• ACLS – AHA
• NIHSS
• Telemetry Certification
• 4-hour Stroke CEU

Experience

• Minimum 2 years RN experience in MS/Tele in a major acute-care hospital
• Strong telemetry background

Preferred Experience

• Ventilator experience
• Post-cardiac surgery experience
• Post-surgical experience

Skills

✅ Telemetry monitoring
✅ IV insertion & management
✅ Central line care
✅ Medication administration
✅ EMR proficiency (Epic or similar)
✅ Basic tracheostomy care & stable ventilator management

Schedule

• Nights: 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM
• 3x12 shifts
• Every other weekend required
• No holidays | No call
• Float to step-down & med-surg as needed

Note: OR experience not required – this is a step-down floor nursing role.

Contract Details

• 13-Week assignment
• Pay: $49–$56 per hour (based on experience)
