Job Description

Join Optum as an Associate Patient Care Coordinator to improve health outcomes by connecting patients with essential care resources. In this full-time role, you'll support a team in delivering excellent customer service and maintaining patient information efficiently in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Obtain accurate and updated patient information
  • Perform insurance verification
  • Obtain patient signatures for required documents
  • File and maintain medical records
  • Confirm and schedule appointments
  • Answer telephone calls and take messages
  • Perform referral documentation
  • Adhere to HIPAA and OSHA requirements
  • Provide effective communication to patients and healthcare professionals
  • Participate in planning and coordinating care

Required Qualifications

  • High School Diploma/GED (or higher)
  • 1+ years of customer service experience
  • Intermediate level of computer proficiency including MS Word, Excel and Outlook
  • Ability to travel to other offices if needed for coverage

Preferred Qualifications

  • 1+ years of experience working in medical front office
  • 1+ years of experience with phone communication
  • Knowledge of EMR software
  • Bilingual in Spanish or English
