Job Title: Clinical Pharmacist

Contract Length: 13 weeks

SUMMARY:

The pharmacy team cares for patients in the areas of ER, med/surg, obstetrics, surgery, and outpatient infusion, including oncology patients. The Pharmacist is responsible and accountable for the safe, effective, and prompt mediation therapy for all patients. The pharmacist will be a crucial part of the healthcare team in each of these areas, providing pharmacy expertise to providers and nursing. The pharmacist is responsible for the full scope of pharmacy services, which includes reviewing medication orders and dispensing medications accurately, supervising pharmacy technicians; maintaining security of medications and the pharmacy; following the laws, rules and regulations that govern the practice of pharmacy. The pharmacist will compound sterile medications, following all appropriate USP 797 and USP 800 guidelines. The pharmacist will be involved with facility activities including: contributing to medication safety initiatives, participating in hospital committees; participating in quality improvement projects; performing operation/ clinical functions or projects as assigned; utilizing time and resources effectively. The pharmacist will maintain professional interactions with patients, caregivers, and other healthcare professions.

Special Demands

Mental: Moderate to high stress. Ability to adjust and interact with a wide variety of job situations involving many different people and projects.

Physical: Long periods of standing, walking, and lifting. Exposure to blood and body fluids, unpleasant sights, smells and infectious diseases possible.

Qualifications

· Full Colorado licensure to engage in the Practice of Pharmacy

· Equivalent combination of education and experience that provide the required knowledge, skills, and abilities will be evaluated on an individual basis.
