PACU Registered Nurse Qualifications

• Active RN license (Oregon nursing license preferred)
• Minimum 1 year of recent PACU or perioperative nursing experience
• BLS certification (required for healthcare jobs)
• Ability to work day shifts and participate in on-call rotation
• Strong communication and patient advocacy skills

PACU Nurse Responsibilities

• Deliver nursing care in pre-anesthesia, post-anesthesia Phase I, and Phase II settings
• Monitor patients during local-only procedures in the operating room
• Administer sedation for select procedures as needed
• Ensure high-quality care for pre- and post-procedure patients using the nursing process and established clinical standards
• Act as a patient advocate and supervise assigned healthcare personnel
