We are seeking a highly experienced RN or NP to serve as a Cardiac Care Nursing Consultant for a specialized skilled nursing unit that cares for high-acuity cardiac patients, including those receiving titratable cardiac drips and left ventricular assist device (LVAD) management.

This is a consultant role available on a PRN or part-time basis, ideal for an advanced cardiac clinician with a passion for mentorship, clinical coaching, and improving care delivery in the post-acute setting.

Responsibilities:

  • Serve as a clinical mentor to nursing staff on advanced cardiac care practices.
  • Provide bedside support and coaching for LVAD management and cardiac drip protocols.
  • Lead clinical skills validation, education sessions, and competency assessments.
  • Act as a subject matter expert during patient care escalations and high-risk situations.
  • Collaborate with leadership on quality improvement initiatives and onboarding processes.
  • Support regulatory readiness and adherence to evidence-based cardiac care protocols.

Qualifications:

  • Active and unencumbered RN or NP license in Indiana.
  • At least 5 years of clinical experience in cardiac or critical care settings.
  • Strong expertise in LVAD management and titration of cardiac drips.
  • Prior experience in education, mentorship, or consulting is preferred.
  • Excellent communication, clinical judgment, and leadership skills.
