As an Associate Pharmacy Care Technician at Optum, you will play a vital role in supporting pharmacy programs and ensuring operational responsibilities are met. Your efforts will focus on enhancing health outcomes by connecting members with necessary resources and addressing their pharmacy-related concerns.
Key Responsibilities
Conduct a high volume of outbound calls to members regarding medication compliance and scheduling
Answer inbound calls from members and assist with inquiries
Follow system scripting and validate member demographic information
Document accurate information from calls
Review claims documentation for correct billing
Provide support on Medicare drug-related issues
Participate in pharmacy quality improvement initiatives
Maintain eligibility information confidentially
Exhibit excellent phone and communication skills
Adhere to assigned schedule and quality metrics
Required Qualifications
High School Diploma/GED (or higher)
Certified Pharmacy Technician CPhT (Must have national certification and be licensed in the state of Texas)
1+ years of customer service experience
6+ months of experience in a call center setting
Basic level of proficiency with Microsoft Office products, including Word and Outlook
Preferred Qualifications
2+ years of experience in a physician’s clinic or hospital
6+ months medical terminology knowledge base
Knowledge of the Medicare Part D, particularly the pharmacy record review, claims, billing and reimbursement rules
Bilingual language proficiency (English/Spanish)
