Job Description
Safeway is seeking reliable and customer-focused individuals for temporary grocery store associate roles in case of a labor strike. This position involves maintaining store operations and ensuring a positive shopping experience for customers.
Key Responsibilities
Greet customers and assist with locating products
Operate cash registers and handle transactions accurately
Bag groceries and assist with carry-outs as needed
Address customer inquiries and escalate issues to supervisors
Restock shelves and maintain product displays
Ensure items are properly labeled and priced
Rotate stock and remove expired or damaged items
Maintain cleanliness of aisles, restrooms, and common areas
Sanitize carts, baskets, and checkout stations
Assist in Produce, Deli, Bakery, Meat, or Dairy departments
Required Qualifications
Ability to lift up to 40 lbs
Stand for extended periods
Strong communication skills
Teamwork skills
Flexibility to work various shifts, including weekends
