Join Family Practice Averill Park as a part-time Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant, working 28 hours a week. Contribute to patient care by collaborating with physicians, performing examinations, and managing acute health needs in a supportive environment.
Key Responsibilities
Practice medicine under physician supervision including examinations and prescriptions
Collaborate on managing acute and long-term medical needs of patients
Assess patient status by obtaining health history
Order and perform laboratory diagnostic and screening tests
Treat illnesses, administer injections, and suture wounds
Monitor therapies and provide continuity of care
Counsel patients and families on preventive health care
Participate in peer reviews, chart reviews, and staff education
Required Qualifications
License and active registration as a physician assistant or registered nurse/nurse practitioner in New York State
At least one year of experience as a physician assistant/nurse practitioner in ambulatory health care
Current CPR certification
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in physician assistant studies or equivalent
Passing grade on the Physician Assistant National Certifying Examination
Current certification by National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants
Successful completion of a nurse practitioner education program
Current certification as a nurse practitioner by AANPCB or ANCC
Three years of professional nursing experience in an ambulatory setting
