Key Responsibilities
Operate electronic message center and answering service equipment
Answer and receive incoming calls, directing them appropriately
Establish rapport with families and visitors to determine their needs
Provide routing information to callers as requested
Maintain accurate lists for in-house medical staff and on-call personnel
Monitor alarms and respond according to hospital policies
Maintain confidentiality of clients and transactions
Attend meetings as required
Required Qualifications
High School graduate preferred or equivalent training
One year of experience as a hospital and/or answering service operator preferred
Ability to speak clearly and use good grammar
Typing speed of 30 words per minute
Good judgment and diplomacy skills
Clear verbal and written communication
