Job Description
Join the ASPCA as a Lead Veterinarian, where you'll support new and experienced veterinarians in delivering high-quality care and empower a dedicated team in serving underserved communities. This role combines leadership with hands-on veterinary practice, ensuring compassionate care for animals while fostering a positive workplace culture.
Key Responsibilities
Oversee and monitor medicine and surgery provided at the veterinary clinics
Train veterinarians in high-quality, high-volume spay/neuter techniques
Support a positive work culture and provide mentorship
Perform pre-surgery physical examinations and high-quality surgical procedures
Provide compassionate, quality preventive and basic care to patients
Required Qualifications
Current California State Veterinary License
Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from an AVMA accredited veterinary college
Minimum one year of experience in high quality, high volume spay/neuter
Minimum three years veterinary experience in small animal medicine and surgery
Excellent work attendance record
Preferred Qualifications
Previous people management experience strongly preferred
Fear FreeĀ® Shelter certification required within 60 days of hire
