Job Description

As a Navy Chaplain, you will provide spiritual guidance and support to Sailors and Marines during both joyful and challenging times. Your role includes conducting worship services, performing religious ceremonies, and counseling individuals, while also enjoying comprehensive benefits and opportunities for continued education.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct worship services in a variety of settings
  • Perform religious rites and ceremonies
  • Counsel individuals seeking guidance
  • Oversee religious education programs
  • Visit and provide spiritual guidance to hospitalized personnel
  • Train lay leaders in religious education
  • Promote attendance at religious services and retreats
  • Advise leaders on morale, ethics, and spiritual well-being

Required Qualifications

  • U.S. citizen or equivalent
  • Graduate degree in theological or related studies from an accredited educational institution
  • Two years of full-time religious leadership experience
  • Ability to obtain an Ecclesiastical Endorsement from a religious faith organization registered with the Department of Defense
