Orthopaedic Surgery - Trauma - Physician

The position is for an Orthopedic Trauma Surgeon at a Level 1 academic trauma center, focusing on managing complex orthopedic trauma cases primarily involving pelvis, acetabular, and long bone fractures. The role involves both inpatient and outpatient care, teaching orthopedic residents and fellows, and participating in call coverage. Candidates must be fellowship-trained, board certified or eligible, and able to obtain an Indiana medical license, with competitive compensation and dual employment benefits offered.

IU Health Physicians is seeking an Orthopedic Trauma Surgeon to join our dynamic team at a bustling level 1 academic trauma center. The ideal candidate will have a robust background in orthopedic trauma care and a passion for teaching and research within an academic setting. The position offers the opportunity to work on complex cases in a high-energy environment while contributing to the education of orthopedic residents and fellows.

Position Details:

• Level 1 trauma center- call coverage shared among group
• Monday- Friday, 1 day clinic weekly, 1 block day, weekend call variable
• IU Health Methodist Hospital
• ~20% Outpatient / 80% inpatient
• Responsibilities include:
  • Adult patient population- serving level 1 trauma center downtown Indianapolis
• Proficiency in managing and surgically treating pelvis and acetabular fractures as well as expertise in repairing articular fractures and long bone injuries

Qualifications:

• DO or MD
• Fellowship trained in Orthopaedic Trauma
• ABOS BE/BC in the United States
• Ability to acquire Indiana medical license
• Graduating fellows and experienced BC physicians encouraged to apply
