Job Description
Join the ASPCA as a Lead Veterinarian and make a significant impact on animal welfare by providing high-quality veterinary care in underserved communities. Lead and mentor a dedicated team while performing essential medical duties, ensuring every animal receives compassionate care and support.
Key Responsibilities
Oversee and monitor medicine and surgery provided at the ASPCA’s CVC
Train veterinarians in high-quality, high-volume spay/neuter techniques
Support a positive work culture through regular 1:1s, recognition, and coaching
Perform pre-surgery physical examinations and high-quality surgical procedures
Provide compassionate, quality preventive and basic care to patients
Triage and refer cases as appropriate
Participate in monthly CM Veterinary Medicine Rounds and meetings
Required Qualifications
Current California State Veterinary License
Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from an AVMA accredited veterinary college
Minimum one year of experience in high quality, high volume spay/neuter
Minimum three years veterinary experience in small animal medicine and surgery
Demonstrate true leadership abilities in challenging situations
Possess ability to work in high-volume, fast-paced clinic environment
Fear Free® Shelter certification required within 60 days of hire
Preferred Qualifications
Previous people management experience strongly preferred
