Job Description
Join UnitedHealth Group as an Experienced Senior Tax Associate, where you will play a key role in mergers and acquisitions, collaborating with various departments to ensure compliance and provide strategic tax advice. Key Responsibilities
Assisting with tax due diligence for acquisitions and investments
Evaluating the tax implications for dispositions
Researching and providing tax advice on structuring acquisitions and joint ventures
Reviewing purchase agreements and legal agreements from a tax perspective
Conducting technical research for analysis of tax laws and regulations
Collaborating with other functional tax groups and corporate functions
Involvement in preparation of tax returns and tax provisions
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance, or advanced degree
2+ years of tax or accounting experience in a public accounting firm, law firm or equivalent experience in a large corporate tax department
Ability to prioritize assignments and manage workload within statutory and internal deadlines
Solid analytical and critical thinking skills
Solid computer knowledge and skills including intermediate proficiency with MS Office
Preferred Qualifications
CPA or graduate degree (e.g., Masters of Tax, law degree, MBA)
Experience with mergers and acquisition tax concepts
OneSource or equivalent income tax compliance software experience
ASC 740 (Income tax accounting) experience
SSAP 101 (Insurance tax accounting) experience
Ability to use pertinent data to identify and solve problems
Excellent organizational and verbal/written communication skills
