Job Description

Join UnitedHealth Group as an Experienced Senior Tax Associate, where you will play a key role in mergers and acquisitions, collaborating with various departments to ensure compliance and provide strategic tax advice. Key Responsibilities

  • Assisting with tax due diligence for acquisitions and investments
  • Evaluating the tax implications for dispositions
  • Researching and providing tax advice on structuring acquisitions and joint ventures
  • Reviewing purchase agreements and legal agreements from a tax perspective
  • Conducting technical research for analysis of tax laws and regulations
  • Collaborating with other functional tax groups and corporate functions
  • Involvement in preparation of tax returns and tax provisions

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance, or advanced degree
  • 2+ years of tax or accounting experience in a public accounting firm, law firm or equivalent experience in a large corporate tax department
  • Ability to prioritize assignments and manage workload within statutory and internal deadlines
  • Solid analytical and critical thinking skills
  • Solid computer knowledge and skills including intermediate proficiency with MS Office

Preferred Qualifications

  • CPA or graduate degree (e.g., Masters of Tax, law degree, MBA)
  • Experience with mergers and acquisition tax concepts
  • OneSource or equivalent income tax compliance software experience
  • ASC 740 (Income tax accounting) experience
  • SSAP 101 (Insurance tax accounting) experience
  • Ability to use pertinent data to identify and solve problems
  • Excellent organizational and verbal/written communication skills
